My Version of Sunday Night Mind Dump!!!!!!

Ok so it all started at 6:00 this morning.  I woke up (How crazy is that?).  For real this morning I had forgotten to get Jarrod’s sermon put in Media Shout (the program we use to put the words on the screens at church).  So I get to church early and get them all put in.  Then Quinton and I decided to change some things.  Then being the TRUE Baptist we are me and Jason Alford sit on the back row.  The first song plays everything seemed fine.  Then as the second song started I noticed the wrong lyrics were going.  Somebody (not me) had put in the wrong song list.  So Quinton calls me and says get up here.  We put it back together and everything seemed to work out.  By the way Jarrod was called as pastor today.  How cool is that.  Its really about time.  I have known since day one that he was my pastor.  Well Jarrod decided to take the night off from XL to prepare for their staff retreat so Mark Floyd and I gave the message tonight at XL.  All I can say is uh. uh I think it went ok.  I just want to say that one of the greatest mentors in my life and the reason I am the way I am came tonight.  I didn’t know he was even there until I started talking.  As soon as I got on stage I made eye contact with him and I lost all concentration.  It was definitely a very emotional moment for me.  This was the first time I had ever talked and prayed in front of 200+ people.  It really meant a lot to me the people that came tonight just to hear the few minutes of talking that I had to do.  Yes I was very nervous and my knees were shaking.  I think Mark also did a great job and I will say we had about 10 more people step up tonight and say they wanted to join a group.  Just to know that something we might have said tonight would make somebody want to make a life change to grow closer to Christ just fires me up beyond comprehension.  I appreciate Jarrod putting trust in me in allowing me to speak for a few minutes.  Wow what a night.  Can’t wait till Wednesday night - first night of Connection Groups.
